StowFiesta is back!

That’s right – get ready to party like you’ve not partied for 18 months – StowFiesta is back for 2021 on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th August! Brace yourselves for two days of fantastic live music, as always featuring various genres and a mixture of covers and originals. There’ll also be free activities for families and children as well as a selection of charity and commercial stalls – and Stowmarket Rugby Club’s bar will be well stocked! It’s free entry and there’s free onsite parking. Here’s your musical line-up for the weekend – click on the band names to access links to their social media pages:

1pm – 1.30pm: David Collins. David is a late addition to the StowFiesta lineup, stepping in at the last minute after our opening act dropped out. David is probably our nearest performer – he lives just round the corner – and he’s played at StowFiesta several times over the years, both solo and as part of the band Zoom Club and, before that, Steela-3-Wheela. He’s an excellent musician and we’re delighted to welcome him back to open StowFiesta 2021.
1.30pm – 2pm: Supracelestial. Acoustic duo featuring 18-year old Stowmarket based singer songwriter Kadie Heaney
2pm – 2.40pm: The Buskateers. The Buskateers are a function band and street performers based in Suffolk who play a wide range of well known covers, crammed with harmonies and excellent musicianship. We saw them playing at an event in Ipswich in Christmas 2019 and thought they were excellent – we’d decided to book them for StowFiesta after a about 30 seconds of hearing them play!
2.40pm – 3.10pm: Aimee Iris. Suffolk based Aimee describes herself as “a bubbly singer/songwriter trying to keep things positive through music.”
3.10pm – 3.50pm: Five Mile High. Stowmarket’s very own Five Mile High make their StowFiesta debut. Started by original member Johnny Duncan, they are a familiar name to local gig goers and boast a history of airplay in the US and UK, gaining recognition from the late Radio 1 DJ John Peel back in the late 90s. They can now be regularly caught on the Suffolk live music scene playing a mix of original and cover tracks, producing a fresh melodic, vocal harmonic, power guitar pop sound that is very prominent of the bands brand. Johnny, Linda Stiles, Kilbey Mears and Daniel Wright complete the band lineup.
3.50pm – 4.15pm: Adam Thomas. Adam is a prolific live solo act on the local music scene, playing pubs, functions, festivals and much more.
4.15pm – 5pm: Jax & Co. Jax&Co are a popular Suffolk-based Johnny Cash tribute act, bringing the best of Cash alongside other well known hits!
5pm – 5.25pm: Adam Thomas. See above
5.25pm – 6.25pm: The Kubricks. A real treat for fans of ska and reggae – The Kubricks are one of the finest original ska / reggae bands in the UK. They have honed their commanding live set since forming back in 2013 and have played to tens of thousands of people across many gigs throughout the country, including Wickerman in Scotland, Dance Ska La (France), Brownstock, and The London International Ska Festival, amongst many others.
6.25pm – 6.50pm: Dove and Boweevil. Drenched in sweet soul music and oozing with grooves… This band love all things cinematic…music that takes you some place else….all encompassing! Whether it’s deep n’ swampy with gritty slide guitar or toe-tapping Soul.
6.50pm – 7.30pm: Colourblind Hedgehogs. Legends of the local music scene, the Colourblind Hedgehogs are a fantastic rock covers band who describe themselves as “The greatest thing to come out of Ipswich since the A12 was built!”
7.30pm – 7.55pm: Dove and Boweevil. See above
7.55pm – 9pm: Renegade Twelve. Stowmarket’s very own Renegade Twelve are a dynamic, high energy rock band. Young talent mixed with great rock guitar influences and modern music has created a very unique style that will leave you with both excitement and a sore neck!
9.15pm (in the clubhouse): Colourblind Hedgehogs. See above

1pm – 1.40pm: Andy Ottley – Elvis Impersonator. In keeping with StowFiesta tradition, we’re joined by the excellent Andy Ottley to kick off the Sunday
1.40pm – 2.10pm: John Peel Centre Sessions – Alton Wahlberg. Alton Wahlberg is an acoustic singer songwriter with over a decade of experience of performing to audiences around the country. He has a unique indie/folk style with raw brutally honest lyrics that regularly make audiences laugh, cry, sing and fall silent all in the space of one gig.
2.10pm – 2.50pm: John Peel Centre Sessions – Three Year’s Younger. Three Years Younger is an indie-pop duo formed in Suffolk in 2016, made up of sisters Megan and Charlotte Simpson. Having sung together since they can remember, it was only natural that the sisters began writing songs together, and started to consider a career in music. They’ll be bringing their full band to StowFiesta.
2.50pm – 3.20pm: John Peel Centre Sessions – Robbie Josephs. Robbie is an acoustic singer songwriter who volunteers on the events committee at the John Peel Centre.
3.20pm – 4pm: John Peel Centre Sessions – Stretch Soul Gang. Sudbury based Stretch Soul Gang is an original band featuring soulful vocals, funky basslines, hip-hop grooves and probably some Jazzy type bits!
4pm – 4.25pm: Ben Smith. Ben Smith is a solo acoustic act who play covers and originals, and like the previous band, is also from Sudbury – in fact we saw him busking in Sudbury town centre a couple of years ago and we were so impressed, we decided to book him for StowFiesta.
4.25pm – 5.15pm: Lucky Number 7. Lucky No. 7 are talented and experienced live performers who gig prolifically on the local music scene. They pride themselves in playing a very wide variety of songs, many of which you won’t hear other bands play. The band provides a fully professional, entertaining and engaging experience.
5.15pm – 5.40pm: Ben Smith. See above.
5.40pm – 6.40pm: Phil Jackson Rock & Roll Band. An authentic piano-based rock and roll trio based in Ipswich that bring 50s and 60s goodness to your ears. In our finest get-up with our instruments in tow, we guarantee we’ll have your feet tapping!
